Should I purchase products from China?

In short, no.

There are so many logical reasons why you should avoid purchasing from China.

Here are some reasons why you shouldn't:

1. Free Shipping is a lie.

Chinese companies are taking advantage of free shipping policies in order to undercut the prices of their competitors. Additionally, there have been reports of Chinese companies exploiting loopholes in the free shipping policies in order to gain an advantage. In some cases, companies have been able to ship goods to other countries at no cost, allowing them to undercut the prices of their competitors and gain an economic advantage.

Due to this, you as the consumer may have to make up for these loopholes they abuse when you pay taxes since postal services are losing money as a result.

2. Funding of Chinese government and military.

Purchasing from China is also funding their country which may be used against you in the future with use of spying or military weapons.

3. Data collection.

When you order from China you will need to provide personal information such as name, address, or email not including what the website/app you ordered on may be collecting about you automatically such as IP Address, device ID, location, MAC address, and other highly identifiable information which no doubt could be used, sold, or seen by Chinese government.

4. Competition.

Consider how the purchase may affect your relationship with local businesses. There is no competition when it comes to China and their low prices along with the 'free shipping' and they know this. Local businesses are forced to pay to pricey shipping costs that countries like China can bypass to keep their business booming.

5. Health risks.

When purchasing random products from out of country like China you are putting you, your family, and everyone else's health at risk. These product may emit dangerous chemicals that could harm you and possibly even cause cancer.

6. Product quality.

Its no secret that the quality of the products may not be as advertised or stand up to any quality standard.

7. Scammers.

There are many scammers out to get you with false advertising or a completely different product shipped to you than the one listed.

8. Labor.

There have been reports of unfair labor practices in Chinese factories, including long working hours, low wages, and unsafe working conditions. Additionally, workers have been subjected to forced overtime, involuntary job transfers, and other forms of exploitation along with reports of human rights abuses in Chinese factories, including the use of child labor and forced labor.

It is always important to do your own research and make sure you are aware of all the facts and potential risks before making any decisions.

If you still decide you want to purchase from China, go for it. Just don't forget the chain reaction of harm you may be doing over a cheap poorly made junk product you will probably only use once.
