6. hide.me VPN

hide.me VPN offers a robust free plan that stands out in the VPN market, providing users with unlimited data and strong security features without requiring any payment information. This makes it an excellent choice for those seeking privacy without financial commitment.

Pros Cons
✅ Unlimited data on the free plan ❌ Limited server locations (mostly in Europe)
✅ No account required (on some clients) ❌ Slower speeds capped at 1-3 Mbps
✅ No-logs policy (hopefully) ❌ Only allows one device connection at a time
❌ No Wireguard file support on free plan. So no router VPN.

⚠️I'd only use this as an emergency backup VPN. Something feels shady about using this provider. Reasons why:

  • On some clients, an account is optional, on some its required.
  • Google Services is required on the Google Play version of the Android app.
  • On some devices I tested, it will be connected, but nothing works.

If you need a paid VPN provider checkout MullvadVPN, ProtonVPN, or IVPN. If you're an advanced user you could buy a cheap VPS provider and 'self host' your own VPN.

Please make sure to only use VPN providers who you can trust. Don't use random 'free' VPNs you may run into. I also highly recommend users to avoid scammy affiliate articles online who just want you to click their affiliate links so they earn money. Providers like NordVPN or ExpressVPN are not trusted in my books.
