How do I install TailsOS?
- Download the Tails ISO file from the official website (https://tails.boum.org/download/index.en.html).
- Create a bootable USB drive using the ISO file. You can use a tool like "Etcher" (https://www.balena.io/etcher/) to do this.
- Insert the bootable USB drive into your computer and restart it.
- Press the appropriate key to enter the BIOS or UEFI setup utility. This key is usually displayed on the screen during the boot process and may be one of the following: Del, F2, F10, F12, or Esc.
- Navigate to the "Boot" or "Boot Order" menu and set the USB drive as the first boot device.
- Save the changes and exit the BIOS or UEFI setup utility.
- The computer will now boot from the USB drive and the Tails installation program will start.
- Select the "Live" option to start Tails in live mode, without installing it on your computer.
- You can now use Tails from the USB drive without modifying the existing operating system on your computer.
- If you want to install Tails on your computer, you can select the "Install" option and follow the on-screen instructions to do so.
Note: Tails is a live operating system that runs from a USB drive or DVD, it does not need to be installed on your computer. Tails is designed to be a privacy-enhancing and secure operating system, and is commonly used by journalists, activists, and privacy-conscious individuals.
